This blog was created with the intention of clarifying common misconceptions, mistakes, and discussing the qualities of Russian armoured fighting vehicles. Each article is intended to be a comprehensive overview for each AFV, in terms of mechanical detail and combat capabilities. We try to make sure that the information used is absolutely reliable, but alas, that is only a fantasy. There may be mistakes, however few. As such, you are welcome to share your thoughts in the comments' section of each article, with a few conditions; your comment should be productive, respectful, non-vulgar, and not overly nationalistic (as hard as that may be!).
Each post will be dedicated to an AFV model, with perhaps some exceptions. Included will be that vehicle's specifications, tactical role and such. If sources are available, they will be listed. If they are not available, we will base that information off of personal knowledge. If any errors or inconsistencies are present, we would greatly appreciate a notification.
As of 31st March 2017, I will be on an extended hiatus. I'm sorry that I haven't written more than I have, but frankly speaking, there are more important things to me than this blog. The fact that I managed to publish eleven articles so far is not testament to my time management skills, but to an idle lifestyle. Blogging isn't usually described as an expensive hobby; it definitely doesn't belong in the same list as parasailing and yacht racing, that's for sure, but Tankograd is special. It takes me months to research and write each article, and every minute spent on this blog is a minute not spent studying, socializing, or working. That lost productivity has been more financially taxing to me than yachting. Putting on the brakes is my best option at this point.
Share your thoughts on this in the comments section of my articles and in the regularly updated polls. I will always respond to comments, even if I am no longer posting.
The information presented in the blog is often assimilated from various online sources, which means that we will inevitably draw the ire of an author somewhere. If you are one of those authors, please contact the author at firstname.lastname@example.org.
